Offering a most scenic drive, Cadillac Mountain was the home to the Wabanaki People, which was composed of several different tribes. A social array of trade included hunting and fishing on the Mount Desert Island where this summit is located. The name has come from a French explorer, Antoine de La Mothe Cadillac.
